Values/Expectations

Dedication. At the center of our values is dedication. We expect our competition team members to be dedicated to NDAOD, their instructors, classes, teammates, and themselves. As a whole, NDAOD is dedicated to helping each and every student succeed in dance and in life.
Respect. NDAOD holds the utmost respect for our dancers and families, and we expect the same respect in return. We use constructive feedback paired with positive praise to correct and encourage dancers throughout the learning process.
Creativity. It is our goal to help dancers develop their technical skills as well as foster their creative sides. NDAOD believes that dance is both an art form and a sport and gives dancers the opportunity to think outside the box.
Growth. Ultimately, we want our dancers to grow each and every class. Growth can occur via technique, maturity, work ethic, flexibility, mentally, emotionally, and so on. As a Competition Team member, we expect growth to be a primary goal for all.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
• Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your weekly class time to warm up and stretch - this will not be a part of class structure
• Arrive to class each week knowing the previous week’s material
• Maintain and improve their flexibility throughout the dance season which includes stretching outside of their weekly classes
• Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic to class each week
• Practice skills, technique, and choreography outside of class
