Competition Team Information
Auditions: TBD for 2025-2026 Team
NDAOD Competition Team
Each season we will wipe the slate clean and start over with a brand-new Competition Team. Dancers who are seeking placement on the Competition Team are required to audition. Dancers must be 9 years old by August 1st in order to audition.
No parents are allowed in the studio during auditions. Auditions will be recorded for review by instructors. Dancers will be judged on the following criteria: flexibility, skill, technique, stage presence, and professionalism throughout the entire audition. Work ethic, class attendance, and attitude will also be taken into consideration. The audition process will consist of skills, a combination, and improv. Team announcements are made within a week of auditions. We take Competition Team member selection very seriously. Any disputes or disagreements on eligibility or placements made by parents will be seen as disrespectful to our professional opinions and will be dismissed. We will not be releasing any formal feedback on auditions. Any dancer that would like feedback on their audition is encouraged to speak with Miss Ashley HF directly In order to best serve our dancers, we have decided to forgo the separate groups within the Competition Team, and instead have opted for a more cohesive unit. Chosen dancers will be placed on either the Junior or Senior Competition Team.
Dancers on the Junior Competition Team will be guaranteed one competition piece that they will work on throughout the year. Senior Competition Team members will be guaranteed three competition pieces both starting at the beginning of the dance season. Dancers will be selected for pieces based on cohesiveness of the dancers, genre, and choreographer’s vision.
